Land Use Law

In New Jersey the use of land is perhaps the most heavily regulated area of law. We represent builders and developers who seek to subdivide land or obtain site plan approvals for the purposes of the development or redevelopment of real property. The use of land is governed by a complex web of regulatory authority beginning usually with the local planning or zoning board.

We represent applicants for development through all phases of the land-use process from initially getting land under contract from a seller to obtaining approvals from municipal planning and zoning boards, County planning boards, County soil conservation districts, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, County boards of health and occasionally other agencies such as the Army Corps of Engineers. Our attorneys are focused on achieving results which allow our clients to build and develop successful projects.
